WICHITA, Kan. – A toddler who was reportedly shocked by a fence at a carnival in west Wichita is fighting for her life.
The 15-month-old girl’s family said she was outside a bounce house when she touched a fence and was shocked, report our news partners at KWCH Channel 12.
Police did not confirm that but did say the girl was critically hurt at the Towne West carnival Friday night and was still in critical condition Sunday.
State Representative John Whitmer told KWCH this incident is a reminder Kansas needs new legislation for amusement park ride inspections.
Kansas lawmakers have asked for a delay on a bill that would require stricter penalties for inspections. Last summer, a boy died on a waterslide at an amusement park in Kansas City.
