Q: What can people expect at the carnival?
A: There will be a lot of games for kids, face painting, raffle baskets, dunk a doc, a DJ and you may just see your favorite superhero walking around. We also will have an ice cream truck on the grounds for guests to purchase a treat.
What will be included in the raffle baskets?
A: We have a lot of great baskets donated by employees throughout the family practice sites in the Northeast, including summer fun for kids, a gardener’s dream, a family sundae kit, a lottery tree, a tablet and accessories.
Tell us about the Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger and its presence in other area medical centers.
A: Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger helps make miracles happen every day at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, Geisinger Wyoming Valley and more than 40 medical groups and pediatric specialty outreach clinics. It has raised more than $59 million for pediatric services, equipment and programs throughout Geisinger Health System since 1984.
Q: How will the proceeds raised by the carnival be utilized?
A: The funds raised by our event will help to provide pediatric equipment, programs and services at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital and throughout Geisinger Health System.
How did this carnival get started?
A: This is our second year for this amazing event. Our staff enjoys giving back and interacting with the community. Last year, we had a successful event, so we wanted to raise funds again this year and have fun while doing it.
Why is community involvement important to this event?
A: Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger is a great organization and helps a lot of children and their families.
