PRESTON — The carnival season will begin early this year, with the annual Preston Carnival kicking off on June 5. Tickets for wristbands will be on sale this Saturday at significant savings.
Celebrate the end of the school year and the unofficial start of summer with a trip to the carnival, which begins Monday, June 5, and continues through Saturday, June 10.
The carnival is hosted by the Preston Lions Club and the Preston Volunteer Fire Company.
Volunteers from both groups will be selling tickets for wristbands from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, May 27, and June 3, at the carnival grounds off Williamson Street in Preston. The ride bracelets may be bought in advance for $12, an $8 savings. Tickets for bracelets also are available for purchase at the Garden Basket florist, located at Route 331 (Dover Bridge Road) and Tanyard Road near the Dover Bridge.
Carnival hours are 7 to 11 p.m. nightly. The annual parade is 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, along Main Street in Preston, proceeding to the carnival grounds (rain date is Wednesday, June 7). Wristbands may be used nightly except for parade night.
Enjoy rides and games, bingo, cake wheel, and delicious food, including funnel cake and hand-dipped ice cream. Rides and midway are from Shaw & Sons Inc.
This is an annual fundraiser for the Preston Volunteer Fire Company and the Preston Lions Club and benefits the local community.
