Shoe Carnival, as expected, reported earnings and sales dipped in the first quarter as tax refund delays dragged down sales in February. But officials for the family shoe chain said sales picked up over the last three months and were optimistic about sales trends for the rest of the year. This year’s Waterfront Carnival is being held at the Outer Harbor. The family friendly event is being hosted by Hammerl Amusements, a regional amusement park business that was founded in 1960. Alpharetta allows carnival 16 days in parking lot

The Alpharetta City Council has voted to allow a carnival for 16 days – 12 days longer that ordinarily permitted – in the surface parking lot of North Point Mall.
