Twenty –two year old Miss National Hire, Vitila Sirivalu was crowned Miss Tebara 2017 in Syria Park, Nausori last night.
Sirivalu who also took out the best float award says the carnival has built her confidence in public speaking and provided a platform for young women to voice their concerns on certain issues.
“No words can describe how I feel right now. I’ve never felt so much feelings coming altogether all at once. I have gained so much confidence and self-esteem in this Vodafone Tebara festival. It has created a platform of opportunities for women such as myself to come out of their comfort zones and show the world what they are capable of and before joining this carnival, I never thought i could stand up in front of this kind of crowd and talk to you all but now I can.”
Meanwhile, Miss Alvin’s Electrical Anishma Lal was awarded second runner up with Miss Nausori Town Council Sonali Prasad as the first runner up.
Miss Charity was awarded to Sheetal Singh.
Nausori Town Council Chief Executive Akhtar Ali says the one week carnival was a success.
