CPD WILL BENEFIT Carnival Coming To Town May 25 | News

The 100 Mile Yard Sale Tour is behind us for another year and by all accounts it was a smashing success.  The weather was perfect and sales were in abundance!

We are now looking forward to Great Plains Amusements carnival that will take place at the “old Walmart parking lot located on the north end of Cleveland on May 25-27.

There was a bit of doubt until late last week whether our Spring Fling Carnival was going to happen since it was going to be held at Feyodi Park that remains underwater at this time. After a bit of scrambling and the help of Chris Gabriel, the owner of the former Walmart property and First Baptist Church, the owner of the property adjacent to the new location, the carnival will go on!  So come and join us at this festive event as we bid an early farewell to spring and kick off the summer vacation season.

The Cleveland Police Department and the Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring this event and they are selling cards in advance for $20.00 to exchange for a wristband at the carnival.  This is a $5.00 savings and will not be available once the carnival opens.

Presale cards are also available for purchase at Mack’s Furniture & Appliance located at 113 N. Broadway in Cleveland.

Thursday and Friday nights at the carnival are wristband nights where you may purchase a wristband for $25.00 and ride all of the rides as many times as you want between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.  Each wristband is good for one night only.  At all other times, all rides require 1 ticket and the tickets are $3.00 each, 9 tickets for $25.00 or 25 tickets for $60.00.  The rides have standard height requirements as required by law so if you want to check those out, we have been advised the rides will be set by Wednesday, May 24 and you are welcome to preview those requirements.

It has been several years since we have had a carnival in the area and it has taken more than a year to get this one scheduled because once you are off the circuit your spot is quickly replaced.  If the carnival is an event you would like to continue, I hope you will spread the word and come out to show your support.

For more information, call the Chamber of Commerce at (918) 358-2131.  I hope to see you there!
