This past weekend Carnival Cruise Line’s Adolfo Perez celebrated travel agents by getting “Travel Agents Rock” permanently inked on his upper arm. Carnival broadcast the event live on Facebook. You can watch it below:
Perez is Carnival’s vice president of sales and trade marketing. The tattoo is part of the kick-off for Carnival’s “Agentpalooza” bus tour, which began this week with events in Houston and New Orleans. Perez surprised attendees at the New Orleans event with the tattoo ceremony.
The “Agentpalooza” event series lasts through May 18 and includes one-on-one meetings, marketing and product experiences for travel agents, as well as a community service and philanthropic component to round out each event. The other cities on the docket for the tour are Charleston, Atlanta, Jacksonville and Orlando.
Each event is divided into a number of different areas. A “Carnival Fun Zone” has a live DJ, photo booth and lawn games. An “At Your Service” area offers a space for one-one-one meetings between agents and Carnival’s sales leadership team and local business development directors. Finally, a “Community Impact” space is dedicated to giving back to local food banks and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which Perez is currently supporting as part of its annual fundraising drive. The event also includes a prize giveaway, including a complimentary eight-day Carnival cruise.
More than 350 travel agents attended the Houston and New Orleans events, Carnival said, and many starred in “Rockstar Moments” video segments which will air on Carnival’s trade Facebook page and travel agent portal.
