BIRCHWOOD Carnival will welcome families for a day of music, colour and excitement on Sunday.
A range of entertainment has been organised for the annual event, which takes place at Birchwood Forest Park, off Moss Gate.
Mayor Cllr Les Morgan will begin the festivities at 12.30pm by officially opening the newly refurbished multi-use games area at the site.
It will be followed by a colourful procession around the park led by Karamba Samba Band.
There will also be a dog show running throughout the afternoon, a large funfair and more than 30 charity and craft stalls to visit.
Other attractions this year include a range of food outlets, ferret walking, magic shows, donkey rides and history displays.
David Boyer, Warrington Borough Council‘s assistant director for transport and environment, said: “The Birchwood Carnival is a real highlight in Warrington’s calendar, bringing large crowds to the Forest Park to enjoy a day of fun and entertainment for the whole family.
“The organisers have been working as hard as ever to make sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
“There will be a real carnival atmosphere and so much to see and do – so make sure you join us for what will a wonderful occasion in one of our fantastic green spaces.”
Now in its 33rd year, Birchwood Carnival is organised and run by the council’s ranger service and the Birchwood Carnival committee.
